Dr. Z's undergraduate training was in philosophy before completing his medical degree and dual residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.

During training, he noticed modern medicine often manages pathology but struggles to prevent or reverse chronic disease, while guidelines project more certainty than the evidence earns.
Like many, he explored Functional Medicine and Medicine 3.0, only to find a second “certainty theater,” built on the same fragile inferences. Grounded in rigorous statistics, Bayesian epistemology, and the history of failed mechanistic treatments, he has demonstrated that much of it is mathematically unsound.
